Jarlsberg® pancakes

with bacon and maple syrup


  • 200 g bacon slices
  • 200 ml pure maple syrup
  • Pancakes (makes 8 pancakes)
  • 300 ml flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3-4 eggs
  • 150 g grated Jarlsberg®
  • Bacon fat for frying


In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt and milk. Add the eggs and the grated Jarlsberg®, mixing till just combined (don’t over-mix). Allow the batter to rest for 30 minutes.

Fry the bacon, then remove from the pan and keep warm. Reserve the bacon fat for frying the pancakes.

Fry the pancakes in the pan or on a griddle at medium heat until golden brown on both sides.

Serve with the bacon and pure maple syrup.
